Lantapan, Bukidnon Road Trip with the Fam

It’s been a while since I’m home because of the pandemic, and a long time ago since the family went on a road trip complete. Yes, it is exciting, and I’m overwhelmed. 

Note: This trip happened before the restoration of GCQ in the province. We chose to wander in areas with a lesser crowd, lesser contact with lots of people. Remember, COVID-19 is still around, everywhere; always keep safe and healthy. Follow the protocols and guidelines imposed by the health and government authorities.

So, why Lantapan of all the other touristy parts of Bukidnon like Impasug-ong and Manolo Fortich? 

About Lantapan

Lantapan is a first-class municipality in Bukidnon province. I have been passing through this area but wasn’t able to drop by for some exploration. My curiosity intensified knowing its flourishing tourism industry. Photos and videos of some of its tourist spots were all over the social media platforms. Word-of-mouth and research led me to this agro- and eco-rich highland tagging along with the whole family.

What’s in Lantapan, Bukidnon?

The municipality is roughly an hour and 25 minutes from home (Valencia City). Join me in this journey in words.

Chukoohills Café & Resto (Kaatuan)

Entrance: 100 (consumable)

Fill your eyes with the vast rice fields, fruit and vegetable farms, and mountain ranges surrounding this relaxing bamboo mansion. Feel the breeze from nature while taking steps outside its guitar-shaped outdoor area. Take snaps and read some quotes everywhere while waiting for your food to be served. A perfect stopover for travelers especially for family and friends.

El Paso Restaurant (Songco)

Entrance: 100 (consumable)

Get ready for that instagrammable pose surrounded by tall trees at this rustic restaurant with an alfresco dine-in area. Catch up with the fam and friends over your consumable food and drinks. If you got lucky, you’ll be able to witness performing bands here or join their campfire and feel like camping in the woods. 

Binahon Agroforestry Farm or BAFF (Songco)

Entrance: 100 (consumable)

Should you wish to get a bit of farm life, better rent a cottage or camp for a night or two at BAFF. There are guided tours at different inclusions offered here. Food, camping, accommodation, leisure activities, and many more, await you. Just visit their FB page for the quotations. You will surely learn a lot about sustainable ecological agriculture from this farm. If it’s raining during your visit, no worries for they can offer you a ride with a guide/driver to get you around the farm. This comes with a cost (1000 in a cab that can accommodate up to 13 passengers), of course.

Since it’s raining hard and late in the afternoon already, we decided to cut the trip and head home for everyone’s safety. There are still many to visit in this municipality mostly food hubs with great nature ambiance. Perhaps, in some other time.

Thank God, everyone got home safe and fine despite the floods and landslides we’ve had passed through. Everything went well as planned. ‘Til our next adventure fam.
