Sol’s Halo-Halo Special
In my previous write-up “An Unexpected Find,” I featured the best halo-halo I’ve ever tried here in Cebu and as promised, here’s my review of it.
Disclaimer: This review is based on my own opinion and experience so I’m not saying which one is best for me is also the best for you. We may differ in preferences on a halo-halo.
An Overview
Sol’s Halo-Halo and Desserts is owned by entrepreneur Cathy Uy and her partner. The name itself originates from Ms. Cathy’s mom name Soledad whom she said has a great passion for cooking and making desserts. The business just started barely a year ago on July 20, 2016, in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City. It soon clicked to Cebuanos’ palettes that they opened its first branch at G/F Skyrise 1 IT Park on March 30, 2017. An interested entrepreneur contracted them for a franchise at Sign in Restobar in Carcar City which opened last July 7, 2017. They mainly serve halo-halo then added with desserts like leche flan, macaroons, puto cheese, buko pandan, custard cake, maja blanca, and broken glass. Different beverages are also being sold.
The Review:
Yes, very simple at first glance, but when tasted, my full stomach seems to make adjustments just as to accommodate what’s already in my mouth. The halo-halo is taste bud-blowing. It literally gave me a fusion of flavors from its macapuno, jackfruit, leche flan, chips, jelo, and other sweets. These fresh toppings were then topped with ube ice cream. What makes this delight heaven in taste? It’s actually its homemade creamy candied ice, which is 100% sugar-free. A perfect blend indeed!
Their halo-halo is available in regular serving (without ice cream) at P50 and in special serving (with a scoop of ube ice cream) at P60 in Tisa. The price at Skyrise store varies at P55 and P65, respectively. They also offer fruit salad (P28), tuna sandwich, tempura (P20), squid roll (P25), squid ball (P20). All the toppings are guaranteed fresh.

candied ice
Meanwhile, due to the limited space of their preparation area, they temporarily stopped serving the other desserts and hoping to offer them again before the year ends.
Where to find?
Sol’s Halo-Halo and Desserts’ main location is in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City (just along the street notable for “Siomai sa Tisa”) and branched out to G/F Skyrise 1 IT Park, Lahug. Its franchise at Sign in Restobar in Carcar City.
Open for a franchise?
Yes. If you want to be your own boss and think of what to start, franchising to Sol’s Halo-Halo and Desserts may just be a great idea. You may PM them at their Facebook Page here or contact this number 09276768053 for more details.
Again, this is my own review of Sol’s halo-halo without referring to other’s assessment of it. I need not justify my claims. Well, I guess you have to try it yourself too. How about that?
P.S.: I also ventured to the other notable halo-halo corners in Tisa and none of them beats Sol’s. Just wait up for their reviews soon.

Just got a response from the management and was told that they are freezing the franchise for now due to their higher demand than their production. You can check back on them soon as what they said.
